Importance of Lip Balm with SPF

What is SPF? SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, measuring the level of UVB protection piece of sun protection clothing or a sunscreen will give you and ranges from 1 – 90. SPF is all about duration (time), not strength. The SPF of your sunblock, sunscreen or any sun protection product indicates the length of time that your skin is protected from sun damage such as sunburn, depending on your skin condition and the intense of sun exposures. If you were to start getting sunburned after 3 minutes in the sun without any sunblock or sunscreen on, applying a sunblock, sunscreen with a sun protection factor of 15 would protect you for 3 minutes x 15 (or 45 minutes) before you begin to get burned by the sun.

Is SPF important for your lips?

When you get to the pool and slather sunblock or sunscreen on your face and body before you are out the whole day with the sun, you’ve likely forgotten something really important — your lips. Using a SPF product (such as SunRight Lip Balm SPF15) on your lips protects you in two ways:
1) because the sun ages skins (lips included), the SPF keeps your lips feeling and looking healthy and vibrant.
2) Skipping the sun protection in your lip products puts your lips at an increased risk of getting skin cancer or another skin condition.

UV leads to skin losing some of its elasticity, and unprotected lips are of no exception, sides, lips naturally have thinner skins, doubling up the risk of skins damage on the lips if left it unprotected.
